No fooling, the outside market resumes at St. Stephens this Saturday, April 1. We’ll be there, along with many other amazing vendors, with Salad / Radishes / Spinach / Kale / and lots of PLANTS for your garden.
This weekend we will have the following PLANTS: Dill, Cilantro, Peppermint, Spearmint, Tarragon, Rosemary, English Thyme, Broccoli, Kale (curly), Collards, Cabbage, Arugula, Rainbow Chard, Kohlrabi, Green Lettuce, Reddish/Green Lettuce, Spinach
As spring unfolds and you get ready to plant tomatoes, this is what varieties we will have:
Tomato Varieties for 2017 Plant Sales |Brandywine, Yellow Brandywine, Big Beef, Better Boy, Celebrity, Cherokee Purple, Supersweet Cherry, Black Cherry, Sun Gold, Granadero, Jet Star, Mortgage Lifter, New Girl, Kellogg’s Breakfast, Betterbush, Arkansas Traveler, Patio
We will also have Basil, Cucumbers, Summer Squash, Peppers, and Watermelon. It’s not smart to plant those this early, so we aren’t selling the plants yet.
But the main focus of our attention is seeding and planting vegetables for our CSA members. This week we came across this definition of a CSA by the USDA: “Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm operation so that the farmland becomes, either legally or spiritually, the community’s farm, with the growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production.” Amen. We especially love the “becomes…spiritually the community’s farm” part. Thank you for choosing to make this farm yours!
Join our CSA – including a Bread Share add-on option! – for a weekly share of the best tasting vegetables around. Pick up runs May through November. We design our CSA shares to make things as convenient (and delicious and nutritious) as possible for you. Sign up online!
This week’s harvest (and baking) includes:
Chervil, Cilantro, Kale, Radishes, Salad Mix, Spinach, …and our Organic Hearth Baked Bread (Whole RYE, Sunny Greens, Seed, & Raisin loaves for this weekend) PLUS: You can purchase our Pepper Jelly and Certified Organic flour that we have freshly stone-ground in our Bakery.

Enjoy ~
