This is the FINAL Farm Share for the year. Thank you for enjoying the vegetables we grow!
Farm Share members literally make our farm possible, and we are very grateful for you!
Want to purchase bread to pick up with your Farm Share tomorrow? See our Bread ordering page here. Ordering is open until 7 am on Tuesday.
Reminder: It’s time to plan for your 2017 vegetables!
Sign up is now open for our current members to join our CSA again for 2017. Please click here to join and enjoy our vegetables (and bread) next year. A full description is found on our CSA webpage and the link to join is also found there.
Farm Share (weekly green boxes, best selection, greatest convenience) and Market Share (debit style, item by item, less selection, must remember to order) memberships both need to complete this sign up process in order to be part of our CSA in 2017. Bread Shares will also continue in 2017, May – November (same months as our Farm Share).
Yes, you can sign up for one, two, or all three types of shares!
Please sign up by the end of November. (No need to make the first payment until February…we just want to know you’re joining us again in 2017.) We will open sign up to our Waiting List on December 1st.
Vegetable Notes…also see recipes cataloged on our Recipe Page and Pinterest Page
Arugula: This peppery green is delicious mixed in with other salad greens, eaten on top of pizza, or featured alone in an Arugula Salad with Beets & Goat Cheese.
Hearty Greens Mix: Many members call this bag of greens our “Smoothie Greens Mix” and add a handful of these greens to their daily smoothies. They are dark, hearty, and full of nutrition. They are also wonderful added to a broth-based soup. Add them near the end of the cooking so they are wilted but still retain their integrity. We also enjoy them mixed with our tender salad greens, wilted and served with scrambled eggs, or in our cherished Hearty Greens Salad with Lemon Garlic Vinaigrette.
Turnips: A favorite fall recipe is Portugese Kale Soup, using our Turnips in place of the potatoes it calls for. (We also use our Hearty Greens Mix in place of the Kale.) We also love Buttered Turnip Puree. We serve this as a side with many dishes.
Sweet Mini Peppers: Enjoy them sliced on top of a green salad, or cut them in half (no need to remove seeds or stem), smear cream cheese in the cavity, and bake. Perhaps with bread crumbs sprinkled on top. Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes. Or make it more complicated but more delicious and make Stuffed Mini Peppers with Bacon Cream Cheese (has onions etc added).
Jalapenos: We have become quite smitten with Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers. (Use just plain cream cheese inside, or combine cream cheese and cheddar.)
