We are both a family and a business that center around amazing food. For this, we know we are happier, healthier, and more fulfilled. Yet our food isn’t fancy. It is simple.

We have so many dinners here where we wish we had scores of other people eating with us so that they could also experience what we are tasting. Our house would obviously be uncomfortably crowded, but it’s a fun thing to dream.

We eat seasonally, and we prepare meals based on what we have. We combine our vegetables with a few standard and delicious ingredients: Broth. Butter. Sea Salt. Olive Oil. Onions. Eggs. Protein. Garlic!

Wintertime allows us fewer vegetable options, but still we are loving what ends up on our table and in our bellies each day. We have our kale and carrots, some cabbage that we put in cold storage, and spinach that has re-grown nicely. We bought a few bins of sweet potatoes from Crumptown Farm. Combine these with the above mentioned kitchen staples and we experience culinary bliss.

Simmer carrots in broth. Roast sweet potatoes with garlic. Braise greens in broth with butter and garlic. Massage kale with olive oil, lemon juice, honey, garlic, and salt. Cook lentils in broth and serve with greens and carrots. Stir kale and roasted sweet potatoes into a casserole pan with a dozen eggs (plus sauteed onions and cheese, salt, etc.). Our four kids are happily eating and eating well.
