It has been cold, and the vegetables are about to take a break for a little while.
Every year at this time we remember how difficult it is to not just grow vegetables in the winter, but also pick them (there is a limited number of hours in which the vegetables are warm enough to pick!), wash them (not warm enough for water to flow), and pack them (our barn is not heated).
Regardless, it is delicious and worth it. And the next couple of days are warmer. :)
We are still accepting applications for our 2016 Interns! Spread the word to those you think may be interested. These are full time positions, including lodging, vegetables, and bread, plus $500/month take-home pay. Previous experience is not required – we look, instead, for hard-working and enthusiastic people. 2016 Market Share CSA Members: Reserve your selection online to pick up Saturday, January 9th at our farm, at Good Health Herbs, or at the Farmers Market at St. Stephens.
* We will be at the Farmers Market @ St Stephens this Saturday, Jan 9, with whatever vegetables and bread are left after Market Share CSA orders.
* We will likely have only bread to order (no veggies) for pick up on Wed. Jan 13th.
* We will not be taking orders for or attending market on Sat. Jan 16th.
